Neuromodulators are a simple, nonsurgical treatment that temporarily reduces or eliminates wrinkles. Neuromodulators can be preventative in that they prevent dynamic (with expression) wrinkles from becoming static (permanent without expression) wrinkles, if treatments are initiated early enough.

By temporarily blocking the nerve impulses, the muscles that cause wrinkles relax giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance.

The treatment is usually done in about 30 minutes and no recovery time is required. Results can be seen within 14 days and can last 4-6 months and are not permanent.

What to Expect

One 30 minute treatment consisting of a few very tiny injections which block the nerve impulses and relax the muscles. Most people say the injections have less feeling than a mosquito bite.

The effects of neuromodulators usually lasts 4-6 months, at which time another treatment is required. After several treatments, the effects often begin to last longer. Repeated use is truly anti-aging and preventative. Most people return to work right after their neuromodulator treatment.

Neuromodulators can be used in both the upper and lower face to promote a healthy, youthful appearance. Some areas that are commonly treated include the glabella or “frown lines”, forehead, crow’s feet, upper lip wrinkles, mouth frown, and the appearance of irregular dimpled skin on the chin. It is often used to treat “turkey neck” bands or “necklace lines” that appear on the neck with age..
